Life Well Lived 3.0 Update

We are just starting week five of Life Well Lived 3.0. Recent highlights include:

  • A great lunch session with Dr. David Lee of the Adelaide Health Clinic discussing the importance of correct ergonomics in the office. Key take-away: keep moving through the day to avoid what Dr. Lee calls the “Bay Street hunch.”
  • Two fun group exercise sessions at Equinox Bay Street– a spin class early in April with a guest instructor (yours truly pictured below…) and a yoga class last week lead by Jaffer Hussain who fortunately is a proper yoga instructor.
  • We are wrapping up our five week Vitality program this Friday at lunch. Thank you to Manulife for their support. The Carrot Rewards smartphone app (carrotrewards.ca) appears to be the most popular step tracker. Favourite phrase overheard in the branch recently: "if you are going for a walk, can you take my phone with you?”
  • As with last year, our Life Well Lived program again overlaps with the Ride to Conquer Cancer. I’m proud to say that Raymond James will have 48 riders participating in four different events this year, raising money for a great cause and sporting a newly designed Raymond James kit – you can see the jersey below. Everyone is doing a great job working towards their fundraising goals and I’m delighted to report that the Raymond James Canada Foundation will be supporting our efforts again this year. • Upcoming lunch presentations include one by the award-winning journalist, Alex Hutchinson, who will draw on research from his new book: Endure: Mind, Body and the Curiously Elastic Limits of Human Performance, and another that has garnered a fair amount of interest already called, Daytime Eating for Optimal Energy – Preventing the Afternoon Slump, presented by Jaclyn Pritchard, Lead Dietitian at Cleveland Clinic Canada.

Stay tuned for more updates….
